4/12/2008 - The Beehive 14 - Summerfield 1
After a very unlucky start with Alex Winter accidentaly potting the black on his first shot in the first frame, things were perfect for the rest of the evening. This resulted in us winning 14 frames in a row -
WHAT MORE COULD A CAPTAIN ASK FOR!!!!
Especially after winning three out of three frames himself!!!
More of this in the future please boys, and this has helped us regain 3rd place in the SLKPA Premier Division:

A week we should forget and not mention again!!!
20/11/2008 - Beehive 7 - Hotshots 8
I think the Hotshots side had a bit of a shock today and were lucky to leave the pub in front, all be-it by only one frame. We did very well in the first 5 finishing the first 'set' 4-1 up, but Hotshots found some frames bringing it back level by the same scoreline in the 2nd set. After winning four of the last five frames I think they thought the last five would go easily to them, but we carried on battling until the end, and therefore only one point was lost to Hotshots - this is the best anyone has done against them this season! Next week brings a hard and interesting away fixture at our friends and close neighbours at The Jolly Fenman, so we need to go into this match with confidence and try our best to catch them up and not allowing them to take an unreachable lead in the 2nd place spot.

Beehive Open Knockout Competition - 6/11/2008
Congratulations
to Dan Murphy for winning the 1st Knockout Competition held at the
Beehive on 6/11/2008. We had only 11 of the 16 required players which
made the draw interesting with byes putting one person straight through
to the semi finals. Dan has a bye through the 1st round but did well
to get to the end and to beat Ian Pankhurst who put up a fight losing
the first but taking the 2nd frame. Sorry for the image quality but
below is a photo of Dan collecting his £35 winnings (reduced from £40
due to lack of players) and Ian took away £10. We then had two games
of Killer with both Steve Unwin and Tony Frost winning the first and
second games respectively, each taking away around £15 each!
This
was a trial on a night with no league fixture, but considerations are
now being made to make this a regualr occurance, maybe once a month.
16/10/08 - Rileys 5 Beehive 10
Another great away victory making three wins out of three for the Beehive pool enthusiasts! Alex Winter and Miro Cujic came away with 3 out of 3 wins and Alex Thomspon finished a 7-baller in emphatic style after managing to snooker himself on the black, but played it off the side cushion and still amaging to pot it!

9/10/08 - Beehive 11 Fox Under the Hill 4
Tony Frost and Alex Thompson won all three our of three frames, and Robin Gibbs 7-balled his opponent and a great home victory!

2/10/08 - away at George IV
The Beehive got off to a cracking start to the new season, coming from 7-4 behind to WIN 8-7
Alex Winter was MOM winning all three of his games.
Alex Thompson was bitter when he lost one of his frames without even having a shot!

If you play in the league to the world rules you should know them enough to referee games. Therefore there is no more excuses and when you play, if is our turn to ref next, then you will referee!!! Subs will continue to be taken in the Winter Season. Voulenteers will be needed at home games to organise the football card to pay for the food. Players should note when they are playing and be close by when it is their turn to play. Therefore before you go out for a fag check the sheet!! Know the rules, a copy is always available on the slkpa website!
PLAYERS WANTED
Pool players wanted for our continually improving team! We need RELIABLE players willing to play every Thursday, to home and away games. We either have transport available or the team pay for any mini-cabs to and from away venue from The Beehive. If you are interested please e-mail tonyfrost@beehivepool.co.uk or ask in the pub. You can also send an enquiry using the form on the 'contact us' page. We also now have 4 x new cues available to use for the members of the pool team. New equipment and cabs etc are paid for out of subs taken each week of about £2 per player.
